Klickitat River and 'The Steelhead Ranch'

Should be an awesome year on the Klickitat. We all know that our Spring has been long and cold. Lots of snow in the mountains. Typically this bodes well for the Klickitat as the snow melt throughout the summer is 'mas bueno' than the glacial till melt. To make a long story short, we should have cleaner then normal water conditions throughout the hot months.

We will offer day trips on The Klickitat from June 1 - Nov 30

Our overnight programs at The Steelhead Ranch program will operate
June 1 - June 20
August 15 - Nov 30

Open Dates at 'The Ranch' for Sept/Oct -
Sept 9-11
Sept 11-13
Sept 13-16

Oct 8-9
Oct 17-19
Oct 20-23

Movie Review

True Grit ***.75 You know I can't actually put my thumb on why this one was really cool. Some great acting, a witty script, a believable story line for the times and not glamorized, all come to mind. Jeff Bridges takes on a big role here, filling the late great John Wayne's shoes. Matt Damon is the other 'Good Guy' in the film. Both end up protecting a stubborn young lady (Hailee Steinfeld) who is out to avenge her father's murder.

Like Dandellion Dust ***.25 This serious drama is 'spot on' acting. The plot is familiar however, as the adoptive parents of a young boy are up against the wall when they are positioned to lose the youngster back to the biological parents some 6 years after the adoption. The movie elicits many emotions that are on both sides of the spectrum. The script is worthy and the cast plays it out well.

The Crazies **.75 I am definitely not a SciFi/Horror guy and the premise of this movie is not appealing at all to my general preference in movies. Somehow I ended up watching this film and I am here to tell you I was on the edge of my seat. The basic plot is centered around the 'plague/infection' catastrophe and all that goes along with it. The overall special effects were good, the script a bit week, but all in all entertaining. The movie is a remake of a Romero film from 1973.
