Fish
the Chosen River AKA The Kanektok with the Duncan Family....Simply
put, "The Duncan's are the real deal" The
Kanektok is an unbelievable Alaskan river located some 400 miles southwest of
Anchorage and flows through the majestic Togiak National Wildlife Refuge. The
millions of salmon that spawn and live in these waters support and feed a variety
of fish. The Kanektok River base camps are located on migratory runs of King,
Silver, Chum, and Sockeye salmon, and Arctic Char. Trophy native Rainbows and
Graylings are commonplace. The unlimited abundance of fish makes The Kanektok
River one of the greatest sports fishing rivers in the world. An Alaska adventures that is a complete wilderness experience, with no facilities of any kind found along the route. Specialized camps and boats for comfort and convenience. Fly Fishing in Alaska at its best. This is a 90 mile float. The top of the float is mostly large Rainbow Trout - with some Salmon, Dolly. The lower 20 miles is mostly salmon with some large trout. Many of these large trout are caught on dries - like the famous mouse pattern. Only the best inflatable rafts, 16' Avon Pro's are used. Each raft features rowing racks, floor boards to stand on, and anchoring capabilities that allow guests to fish any drift in the river. Most of Alaska's big game and bird species are common in these areas and during the trip it will be possible to see many in their natural habitat. There
is a large, free-standing community area tent which every evening becomes the
center of activity. The tent contains a complete propane kitchen, dining tables,
and work area. The sleeping tents all have stand-up head room and provide good
shelter from any weather. The menu rivals most lodges with meals unheard of in
a wilderness situation. And, if the above amenities aren't enough, you can try
our now-famous riverside hot shower. The mobility of these specially designed boats and tent camps allow guests to fish waters inaccessible by any other means. These outings were conceived for the fishing enthusiast who wants the ultimate in fishing and outdoor experience. Float trips require a little greater participation and group effort in daily camp operation by the fishing enthusiast and in return it offers a chance to see and fish country that can't be reached any other way. You will be flown by chartered amphibian airplane to an isolated wilderness lake surrounded by stately mountains, located at the headwaters of the Chosen River. This is the beginning of a remarkable adventure on a small river. The river continually grows in size and changes in character as it flows from the mountains, through the foothills and finally merges with the sea.
When it's time to load the plane and return, the person going home is a different person than the one that came. He has a deeper appreciation and respect for the fishing experience and Alaska's vast wilderness. These Float trips are limited to eight guests, with one guide and two guests per boat. 8 Days/7 Nights Price $3750 - Airfare not included, 90 Mile float Lower
