Jennifer is a self- professed “steelhead addict” and “spey rod junkie”, always preferring to throw the double hander over anything else while in pursuit of chasing the big, wild, native’s using her husband’s deadly invention – The Super Muddler.

Jennifer has been around the sport of fishing all her life as she grew up in a family of avid steelheaders in Longview, WA. It wasn't all that long ago that Jennifer picked up her first fly rod, thanks to meeting her now husband, Jack.

From the beginning, Jennifer had always been enamored with the two handed rod…the eloquence of the cast and the effectiveness of the tool made quite an impression. And, after trying it one sunny day on the Klickitat, she can honestly say that she has been in love with it ever since. It became, and still is, her most favorite way to fish the fly.

“Fishing, for me, is not a numbers game anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I am as competitive as they come and I love to fish hard. But in the end, I must say that I do just love the cast, finding where they live, and being ‘waterside’ with my favorite fishing partner, my husband. Fishing for me, is in part about the journey, and in part, pure therapy….enjoying the dynamics of the river, the flora, the fauna, the drift, the solitude of one and the camaraderie of others is like no other.”

Currently, Jennifer is working on mastering the single spey and snake roll casts. Jennifer also looks forward to learning how to tie steelhead patterns.

Jennifer co-owns and operates The Evening Hatch Guide Service & Fly Shop, which facilitates day trips and overnight trips year around on several trout and steelhead rivers throughout the State of WA, utilizing their 2 lodges and portable tent camp operations. Her favorite river to guide is the Klickitat for summer steelhead, either walk/wade or float trips. She is well versed in single hand and two handed rod tactics, and loves to teach others the method of spey fishing.

Over the years, Jennifer has been fortunate to be featured in various publications, including the cover of Mid-Columbian Magazine and Backpacker Magazine. She has also been featured in Catch Magazine's #8 issue in Todd Moen's video segment called ‘Spey Style’. She has also been a featured speaker at the Sandy River Spey Clave - May 2011.
