We met Jack for a leisurely breakfast . The hatches don't start early on the river, so a "crack of dawn" departure is not required. The talk turned to fly fishing and Jack told of recent reports from his guide staff. He explained what was working the past few days and the approach we were going to be using to start the day.
Jack mentioned that we were going to be using several methods as the day progressed, but a lot depended on what the fish were looking for. Ahh - this is where experience comes in.
We followed Jack and his drift boat to the launch site and parked our car. As Jack launched the boat we put on our waders and assembled our rods.
